 What to Expect
Every time you visit our office, we will welcome you with a smile! You're our guest, as well as our patient, so expect to feel right at home. We'll mail you a registration packet before your first visit. If you complete the forms and bring them to your appointment, you'll save some time. Your first exam should take about one hour and a half. It is a very comprehensive exam, in fact many patients comment about how thorough we are. Dr. Modjtahedi will meet with you, discuss your primary concerns, goals, and expectations, and then conduct a thorough oral examination (including oral cancer, TMJ, and periodontal disease). In some cases we will take a full set of digital radiographs and digital intraoral photos so that you can tour your mouth on a chair side monitor at the completion of your exam. Before you go, we'll make recommendations for treatment, explain your options and together come up with a treatment plan that works for you. On occasion we may schedule a consultation for more complex treatment plans so that we have time to explore all available options for you. This is done so that when you return for the consultation you will have all the necessary information to make an informed decision as to what will work for you. Incidentally there is no charge for this follow-up consultation. Following this appointment we would schedule your cleaning and any treatment that needs to be done.
In the event that you are experiencing a dental emergency and need to be seen right away, we will, of course, be happy to schedule an appointment right away to address that concern. The comprehensive examination will then be done on a subsequent visit.
